- A monthly service offered by Computers Direct that allows information to
be gathered about a client’s servers, workstations, and other network
attached devices.
- The status of these services is then evaluated by our monitoring server
and, if thresholds are surpassed, an alert will immediately be generated
and sent to a service technician.

- A major hurtle to overcome in IT Consulting is the ability to see the
future. Often times a problem is brought to our attention only after it
makes itself very evident (i.e. system will not boot, virus infection,
etc) to the client. Remote monitoring allows Computers Direct to keep an
“eye” on your systems 24 hours a day. With our remote monitoring client,
we can gather data quickly and intelligently, and allow our monitoring
server to decide if the issue constitutes a possible problem for our
client.

- Acme Corp. has a file server that all of it’s employees use to store
critical documents and spreadsheets. The hard drive in the server begins
to fill up with data and soon there isn’t anymore space. You call us in
the middle of a busy week and need more hard disk space added which
results in a few hours of down time as hard drives are added, data is
copied, and any drive mapping changes that need to occur are performed.

- If Acme Corp. had been using Computers Direct Remote Monitoring
technology a threshold could have been placed on the server hard drive.
For this example we will say 75%. When the drive had reached 75%
capacity, the monitoring server would have seen this and compared it to
our acceptable free disk space range, which would have resulted in a
detailed notification to be sent to Computers Direct so we could talk
with you about possible solutions to your disk space issues well in
advance of any surprise downtime.
